"I broke my screen a month after my Apple care expired and just haven’t gotten in fixed in almost 3 years. I checked other places as I have moved around a lot but I would have to pay $500+ for an A grade retina screen and even a C grade was $380. I got a bonus and finally decided to fix my computer and it was $400 for the screen and $100 for the labor and boy was it worth it! She opened up my computer and it looked BRAND NEW I was so excited I was doing a happy dance (carefully) the whole way to my car. These people are the best and it took TWO DAYS! I dropped it off on Friday and didn’t expect to pick it up until Tuesday or Wednesday since they’re closed on the weekend. They texted me Monday afternoon that it was ready to pick up. "WOW. these guys are amazing. And SO AFFORDABLE. skip the apple store. They had everything diagnosed, new parts ordered and replaced, all in three days. They text, email, call you every step. They tell you it’s 50$ for looking at it, and I was hesitant fearing they would charge me the 500$ apple quoted me, but they told me it would credit the repair if I choose to let them fix it. I did and the price came down to 1/5 of that quote. Going here for any problems in the future."

When I went to Computer Doctor, Kevin understood the issue really well and explained to me the specifics of how the screen works and told me about the options I had since my Apple Care had just expired. He was quite helpful and directed me to speak to Apple Care for the exception that needs to be applied because it was a defect on Apple's side. He also spoke to the Apple team and explained the issue very well. Within just a couple of days, my issue was solved and I did NOT have to pay the 700$ at all required to fix this issue. I appreciated not being talked down to when the work was explained or when I asked a question that belied my ignorance. Alan explained how my computer would look different after the update/replacement of the hard drive and he also warned me that some of my programs (apps) would be lost. Yeah, I had to re-load some of them, but this repair was totally worth the cost and the time. It was like getting a new computer while getting to keep the old one that I'd become attached to. Yes, I know I will need a new one in a couple of years, but this one was good to me, getting me through a doctoral dissertation and my first years as a professor, so it was nice to do something good for it.
